Simply the new server has to at least match the functions of the old one.
PHP version etcetera if you are using something like WordPress, Joomla or Drupal. Then seek advice from the relevant provider. Their forums are a great way of finding people that give the same answers (doesn’t that give you confidence).

If you have a static website then it is simpler. If you cannot work it out then it is time to study, how to manage remote files and folders, and learn data transfer methods. Google it!

Anyone can build a website. It is not rocket science – just a series of decisions that start with pen & paper!

Draw your rough sketch on a piece of A4 paper with it positioned sideways (landscape).
This can be very rough but it must have enough information to tell you where to place items on the website page.

The users eye will first look at the top left then work down the screen scanning for information across the screen. This works just like reading a magazine page with text and pictures. And that is how you place items on your website page.

This layout [click on the picture to see a larger image]…

has a header across the top with a menu index down the left side and main content to the right with a footer along the bottom. This appears to be the most common layout used on the World Wide Web.

Just have a go – You may not get the hang of it straight away but with a few tries you should have the idea.
